The 2011 Bobby George National Charity Darts Marathon
We are delighted to announce that its back - yes the incredibly successful and popular Charity Darts Marathon, led by darts legend and Mr Showbiz himself, Bobby George is back after an 11 year break.
This year's Marathon, will take place between 16th - 23rd September 2011 in pubs, clubs and other local venues across the UK.
The event organised by the UK Sports Association in association with Darts! Monthly magazine is based on teams of 8 playing a 4 hour darts marathon in their own local at a time they choose during Darts Marathon week. Team's win prizes for Highest Team Score, Highest Individual Score, Most 180's, Highest Team and Individual sponsorship, swear box and many many more! Lots of prizes to be won including balloon flights, trophies white water rafting and many more. Major prize winners will be invited to a Gala Prize Giving Presentation and will have the chance to meet the man himself, Bobby George!!
Teams will compete for the coveted Bobby George Perpetual Trophy currently held by 1999 winners, the Prince of Wales PH, London N15 with a staggering score of 184,499 and not forgetting the skilled and generous fundraisers at Nolan's Bar, London SW8 who raised an impressive £5,417.25 and hold the Highest Team Sponsorship title! Calling all darts players, publicans, league secretaries and anyone who wants to have a fund night of darts whilst raising money for disabled people across the UK! You don't need to be the best dart player to be part of this event - all are welcome to take part!
