Preparation underway for the 2009 INAS-FID Global Games
UKSA will be sending a Great Britain Team to the Games. It is anticipated that the Team will have athletes from Scotland, Wales, England and Northern Ireland, all competing together as Great Britain.
UKSA is very pleased to announce that Verona Elder MBE has been appointed "Chef de Mission" for the 2009 Great Britain Team. Verona is a Commonwealth Games Gold medallist, was the 2004 Global Games Team Manager and the 1996 Team Manager for the Olympic Athletics Team. We are proud to have such an experienced athlete and Chef de Mission leading Team GB to this important event.
UKSA will select the athletes and staff for the GB Team and manage the GB entry. The UKSA Selection Committees will set performance standards and publish selection policies in swimming, athletics and table tennis. Selection Policies will be published very soon. UKSA will confirm soon what other sports may be included in the GB Team for this event.
